Peter MacKenzie-Wood BVSc
I am the practice principal of Willoughby Veterinary Hospital. What this means is that I am responsible for the quality of care provided to all our patients. To do this I ensure I employ highly skilled and empathetic staff, and I ensure they have the right training support to deliver the quality of care that all our patients deserve. I have completed a post graduate course in surgery which enables me to perform an array of more complicated surgical procedures. One of my own dogs, Bella, was surrendered to me from a breeder because she has a congenital heart defect. We, as a team, successful corrected this defect and she has been a part of my family since.
Outside of work I coach my son's Norths under 11's rugby side - training kids is definitely more challenging than puppies!! I am also a keen cyclist, recently I completed a charity ride from Adelaide to Melbourne where 40 middle aged men wearing lycra raised over $600 000 for children's charities. I once enjoyed golf - but alas there are only so many hours in a day!!

I have been caring for the patients of Willoughby Veterinary Hospital for the past 4 years. I was once full time but since the birth of my son last year I am only part time. I fill most of my down time by studing a Veterinary masters degree. I have 2 beautiful Australian Kelpies which make a mess of my backyard. I often help out with Kelpie rescue and foster little pupies waiting for new homes.

I am an associate Veterinarian at Willoughby Veterinary Hospital. As one of the more recent additions to the team at Willoughby I have really enjoyed getting to know the people and their wonderful pets. I help run the puppy school which is just as much fun for the convener as the puppies! Willoughby Veterinary Hospital is a wonderful place to work as a Veterinarian because we have a fantastically equipped hospital and clients that seem very dedicated to caring for the health of their pets.

Since starting work at Willoughby Veterinary Hospital at the end of 2009, I have grown to enjoy immensely both meeting clients during consults and helping them with their animals, as well as performing challenging and interesting surgeries such as intestinal and orthopedic procedures. I have a very cute rabbit as a pet but have my sight set on a puppy very soon.
Hope Richards BVSc
I am a Veterinarian with nearly 20 years experience and have returned to work in the last few years since getting my children off to school. Most people describe me as an animal tragic - I have bred boxers, I have an accident prone Burmese cat and a recently adopted Poodle cross that I am weaning off Prozac. Add to that I usually test my husband's patience by regularly bringing home puppies that need extra care and TLC.
Erica Steppat BVSc
I am an experienced Veterinarian and have been working at Willoughby Veterinary Hospital for many years. Since having children I only work part time but regularly enough to see my favourite clients. I also lecture the Veterinary Nurse students at TAFE. As an AQUIS accredited Veterinarian I am able to help people with imported and exporting their pets overseas.
Lisa Chan Reception/Nurse
I am the longest serving nurse at Willoughby Veterinary Hospital, although my job now is mainly running the reception. I have a certificate 4 in Veterinary Nursing and can handle most people's enquires about general animal husbandry. I am responsible for ensuing all our patients get their reminders on time and pay their bills on time!! Currently I live in an apartment and cannot keep pets so occasionally you will see stray kittens at reception keeping me company. Outside of work I am an active participant in the Gordon Cricket Club and the St Ives Soccer Club.
Bonnie Kelly Vet Nurse
I have been nursing at Willoughby Veterinary Hospital for over two years. By the end of this year I will have completed my certificate IV in veterinary nursing. My job is to provide optimal care for all the animals that come to our clinic. Although all my work is enjoyable I love the surgical nursing most, which means I assist the vets in surgery. Everyday at Willoughby Vet I am learning and expanding my knowledge of veterinary science. Being such a busy clinic we are always working with a variety of challenging cases. I own two dogs and two cats, though one of my cats Tinkerbell "the wonder cat" is my closest, she's a blue point Siamese and I adore her very much.
Meghan Dalton Vet Nurse
My role at Willoughby Veterinary Hospital is Head Nurse. In this role I implement nursing procedures to make your pets stay in hospital as safe and as comfortable as possible. I am a certificate IV qualified nurse which allows me to monitor anaesthetics and "scrub in" to assist the surgeons in complicated surgeries. My job is fantastic because I get to meet lovely people and help them with their treasured pets.
Nicole Floudas Vet Nurse
I am a qualified level 4 Veterinary Nurse. I am currently completing my delta training course which has allowed me to design and run a puppy school program. As the owner of a 3 year Labrador Retriever, I understand the complexities of training exuberant dogs and I am happy to give advice. Next year I am going to study critical care nursing so that our sickest patients get the best nursing possible.
Rachel Simmonds Vet Nurse
Over the past few years I changed from being one of Willoughby Veterinary Hospital's best clients to one of the Staff. Through looking after 2 elderly Miniature Schnauzers with ill health I developed a passion for Veterinary nursing and I am well into my study. Although I enjoy all aspects of my job my particular area of interest is care for the sick puppies and kittens - these guys just need that little extra TLC to get them well again.
Amelia Friend Vet Nurse
After spending many years caring for puppies at Pets Paradise I decided to follow my desire to care for animals and take a job at Willoughby Veterinary Hospital. I have began my study and I am enjoying every minute. I have an elderly Cavalierg with a failing heart so I trying to give him as much love as I can while he is still with us.
Imby Love Vet Nurse
I am another staff member who started as a client. My family dogs were saved many times by the staff at Willoughby Veterinary Hospital. These fond memmories have driven my into the animal care industry. I am well into my nursing study and I am enjoying working with all the special animals that come into the practice.
